Rose Propagation Event @ Thanksgiving Point
June 21 @ 3:00 pm

URS Spring Propagation Event. Located in the Oak Room (basement) at Ashton Gardens (3900 Garden Drive, Lehi). There will be a propagation demonstration by Kristin Eichers to start the event. You can also download Kristin’s propagation presentation from our FB files page.
Bring cuttings of non-patented roses from your garden to share. The best cuttings are from a stem 12 to 18 inches long that has recently had a flower die but has not been deadheaded and has not begun to form hips. Most of the cut stem should be larger than a pencil and a little flexible. Be sure to label them and keep them in water. Bring a water container, a marker, and some labels (or write on the leaf or stem of the cutting) to mark the cuttings you choose to take. Please come even if you don’t have cuttings to share. As this event is sponsored by the Utah Rose Society, an affiliate of the American Rose Society, it is important that we respect and comply with patent laws. Please do not bring cuttings of currently patented roses to the event as they will not be admitted. Plant patents last 20 years from date of application. Please research your roses and be prepared to provide the patent expiration date / or the date of introduction for any cuttings you bring. HelpMeFind.com is a great resource for patent information, among others.
